Ain't going to get an fjr into a2 licensing.

Er-6 is also a good option but is twin,
Mt07 (twin but naked)
Cbr650 is a cracking bike also failed and 4cyl but probably out of budget if looking at bandit 600.
I know it's a long shot but what about something fully faired.

My first big bike was a yamaha thunder cat.
R6 engine in a sports tourer package.

Gsf600 (ugly but good)

Any jap bike that's been in storage have your wallet fully primed...brake overhaul, full strip down of the fuel system etc plus why was it put away and not sold. Ive stopped buying bikes that have been stored now as there are too many of them being used daily and a known quantity

Yup that was my thoughts it looks clean in the picture but they want 1k for it

Really any IL-4 600 that comes in under the power limit is going to be so old that it's almost certain to be a money pit. Added to that, they often ride like a pig when restricted.

My wife has a Suzuki GSX 650F...inline4 and fully faired plus within your BHP bracket and can be found cheap..

Doesn’t have to be a 600 I’d like a inline 4 or triple but not a 100% deciding factor

That's a good call IMO. Modern looks, fairing, decent but non-aggressive handling. Takes modern rubber. Good enough brakes and suspension and you might even be able to find a restrictor kit for it without having to pay for dyno time.

Patience is the key. These are sadly desperate times for a lot of people. Nothing really being exported so the home market will get a flying chance at the used market.

Pete they are pound for pound amazing little bikes and with a bit of GSX heritage thrown in unbreakable..Wife has a 2008 with 54,000 miles and it sounds like a 5000 mile motor i kid you not

Come to think of it, my bike comes in under the power restriction limit. It's no 4-cyl screamer but the handling is magnificent, solid build and Brembo brakes as standard will wrinkle tarmac. Also fitted with heated grips and comes with onboard puncture repair kit.

Why must it be a 4 cyl?
If it must I'd go CBR600, or the Bandit / GSX as above.
I still wouldn't rule out the CB, SV or the ER though...

The SV650 was nicknamed 'halfabusa' because it had the same bore & stroke and you could put the stronger 'busa pistons in them and take them racing.

Well if that's the case try looking at the TDM 850 twin...comfy bikes and has plastics. The 900 might be out your price range but tbh i think the 850 is a better bike as a cheap hack

I also passed my test in the dark ages, Triumph Speed Twin with a side car on it, how dark is that?
