The two basic techniques are rightward and leftward, leftward technique is with the filler rod leading the torch this is the usual method for tig and oxy acet, rightward is when the torch is moving away from the filler, leftward is generally used on materials up to about 5 to 6mm although if working on positional joints a combination of both techniques will probably be appropriate.
So are you a master of the all positional rightward welding technique then Paul? Never could get my head round that - even did the 2" hori vee oxy-acetylene test in 2 runs leftwood. W/A
