I meant i did a few runs on some sheet steel before trying this!I'm not sure that meets the dictionary definition of a run You only 3 or 4 1" welds around the rim to hold the seat on. With the keg being a good bit thicker, i'd turn the power up a bit hold the weld on the rim and flick it up on to the seat base then back to the rim.
ah good cheers, my biggest problem is guiding the wire bang on in between the keg and frame. Seem to be wondering off so i have to keep revisiting and laying 2-3 beads in one area lolWhere there are beads, it's not bad
Is your mask/lighting a bit poor...seems to be an issue with aim?my biggest problem is guiding the wire bang on in between the keg and frame
I reckon i went overkill on the shading, always put it to max setting out of paranoia, put it down to about half way and that's helped a big deal, something i should have thought of to begin withIs your mask/lighting a bit poor...seems to be an issue with aim?
that's a good shout, been considering attaching a headtorch to my mask too!Been there myself too...I found my true colour mask very helpful if you haven't got one they're worth a look. I usually mig with a light on my work most of the time and even then I miss!
I'm 2 hands on the torch...Luke Skywalker Vs Harry potter!
oo good shout with the leather glove!I use a DeWalt lamp...small torch would also work too. I use left hand to guide (rest torch just on my index finger)...right on trigger.
I'm always setting stuff alight so I use leather glove on left hand...thin glove on right (for UV protection). Burned my hands many times putting stuff out...now I have a system
I've seen people weld beautifully one handed...same here...tried but I'm all over the place!
I'd say most MIG welders use two hands... that's why you can buy left hand welding gauntlets on their own... most are right handed so RH on torch trigger, LH supporting the gun neck... the LH takes all the heat and damage.I've seen people weld beautifully one handed...same here...tried but I'm all over the place!
Geez....every day is a school day! I never even thought to look for the left one onlyI'd say most MIG welders use two hands... that's why you can buy left hand welding gauntlets on their own... m
How much is it? I need to get some and can't see many 15kg listed. LolPrice a roll of s/s mig wire. When you've recovered from the shock you'll decide to use m/s mig wire!
