Hi. I'm sure this had been asked many times but I'm not sure on my best option.
I've run out of the 'pub gas' I was given. Looking to get a proper welding bottle, probably 5% co2. Mostly for thinish steel mig. Not sure if I should get 10 or 20l. I have an bad back but am reasonably strong. I can't store my welder where I weld so have to put it in the car/van each time.
I'll probably use maybe 10-40l a year at a complete guess.
1 local motor parts place has 10l for about £95 plus VAT, 20l is about £110 plus vat. Both have a 60-70 deposit which is refundable if you return the bottle.
Second local motor place has SGS gas. Think it was £122 including for 10l, 20l for £158 I think.
The most local welding place does 10l for 98 plus vat. Didn't get a price for 20l. The deposit is £60 but you only get £40 back.
Another place is about 30mihs away but will deliver. Only do 20l. Only do 15% co2. £160 ish inc vat.
Any advice would be great.
Thanks
Charlie.
