A long time ago i started the rebuild of a vintage racing motor launch, she was built by Saunders in approx 1905.
Im just on the point of restarting the project & soon will need to fit some frames. Unlike any of her few surviving sisters she was fitted with 8 rolled steel frames around the engine bay area obviously designed to take the stress & power of a large petrol engine. Now the easy way out is to laminate new frames from timber but it would be nice to keep as much originality as possible so im looking to have a crack at bending the new frames. The remains of the old ones are 1" angle iron with 3/16" web thickness the frame lays flat on the hull stringers with the leg inside.
To complicate matters all the frames are slightly different and are not a constant curve.
Any ideas or advice on best way to do this welcome.
