I need to submit some test pieces. Has anyone recommendations for a testing house. I’ve called Keighley labs 3times this week and they still haven’t returned my calls.
Preferably Yorks area
It says in para 3; ‘The specications of the material used for test samples must meet the requirements of the material groups defined in paragraph 2 and be representative of materials likely to be encountered by the welder in the course of his normal work.’
Does that extend to tube wall thickness, as we will be using thinner wall than called for. If so what wall thicknesses will those samples cover.
Cheers
When doing welder approvals to other standards such as ASME or 9606 on that thickness you would usually qualify thickness to 2t on Fillet welds. So if you did everything on 0.049 thick you should be ok, I will check for sure tomorrow when I'm in the office and get prices for testing to you.Not really, it’s all down to what we can go down to based on the FEA
Are you doing some aerospace work shox? I've done a few bits in the past mainly aluminium
Excellent stuff mate share some photos of there are no restrictions
Thanks for the call today David.
I’ll hopefully get the test samples done and sent off tomorrow.
