The company at work are looking to invest in a complete all in one type tool kit for on-site work. We do ice rinks, so its mainly standard enough tools, ie spanners and sockets.
Up until now ive been using my own tools but theyve said they'll actually get me a kit for the coming season. Now, I know full well that theres no such thing as an 'all in one' kit thatll do every job on site, so im still happy to use my own tools when the needs be. The work includes servicing plant machinery such as generators, chillers, tractors and ice resurfacers.
The budget hasnt been set, but id imagine they wouldnt be overly pleased if i landed back to the office with a 5000 piece teng set and dropped the bill onto the desk
As for quality, they dont have to be the best as most tasks arent overly strenuous, and if a job requires a decent tool i'll bring it from the workshop at home. Id imagine brands like Sealey and Draper will do the job fine.
Ideally looking at something in a single chest that can be chucked into a van.
I've never actually bought new tools like this, have always acquired tools bits at a time and have always gone for older tools from Britool and the likes, so have no idea really what the modern standard of tools is.. Although i do have a suspicion things have gone downhill
Anyway, was just wondering if any of you have experience with any of these kits and what yed reccomend!
