best tip i got was, ring of insulating tape around the outer sheath where you want the gland to be, front edge of the tape ring, cut around with a hacksaw, scoring deeply into but not through the armour, wiggle cable and armour strands should snap off, cut any stragglers with a set of side cutters, then run a knife around the back edge of the tape ring and pull off the sheath, leaving you with a neat even ring of armour wires that should be easier to gland off...
I've probably made off hundreds of SWA's with a hacksaw, but the Armourslice/Bladerunner is a revelation, much quicker, easier and neater cuts.
Edit: my first job as an apprentice was to make off some SWA, I cut my thumb with the hacksaw and got to visit the factory surgery
