I'm a hobby MIG welder doing up an old motor. I have a Clarke 135TE, which came with an auto mask (Clarke, I assume).
I was doing a small repair last night and afterwards, my right eye was irritated to *******. Today it was worse, just felt like grit in the damn thing all day and really red (still is). The Mrs has checked to if there is a brick or something in there, but nothing. So, I assume it must have been the welder.
So, my question is:
Do I need to change the lens on the mask, regularly. It's not had 'that much' use.
Is it common for your eyes to hurt, even wearing a mask ? Am I doing something wrong ?
And. If I need a new one, can someone recommend a decent hobby mask ?
Cheers chaps.
