So my trailer design is getting on in CAD. I've had a flick through the trailer IVA manual but loathed to read it all having only spent the last two years reading all the regs to build my 4x4 buggy.
The section on brakes says that a report needs to be provided and no actual test is done at the IVA check, and elsewhere I found the name of some standard that the report needs to meet.
In practice, does anyone know what is the normal route that is taken to pass the brake section of a trailer IVA?
If I recall, when you buy axles and things from the likes of Al-ko you select brakes and hitch for your desired trailer capacity, so presumably the brakes are thus tuned for that weight of trailer. Would this be enough to show at the IVA? That the brakes are manufacturer tested and fitted according to guidelines?
Anyone know of a brand more competitive than Al-ko?
