Starting to get some issues with the HID's on my car, reading the fault codes I'm getting consitant faults of Low Beam Signal voltage too low.
This is the main supply voltage for the ballast, the lamps fitted are 1x Osram and 1x Phillips D2S bulbs, so not shady ebay specials. Both bulbs are rated 85v yet both lights are reporting bulb voltages in the low to mid 90's.
As the bulbs age do they require greater voltage to maintain the arc? Or is this a symptom of faulty control gear, or is it infact nothing worth worrying about?
Both lights are fused to 15A and voltage drop - on the 'Low beam signal' line (with car running) is approx 1v below VBatt.
Would appreciate a bit of insight before I splash out £100 on new bulbs.
Thanks
