Last Saturday I took a 230 mile round trip to buy a welder. Before I left I added some diesel into a 1/4 full tank, which should have more than covered the journey. About 30 miles from home the fuel light came on, the tank was nearly empty! I stopped for fuel & checked to see if I had a fuel leak. Before heading home I had plenty of fuel, the car was drinking it only on the return journey.
It was only today, when I went to turn on the rear windscreen demister that I realised what had happened. On Saturday, as I was going home & had hit the wrong button & turned on the a/c instead of the demister.
The a/c on my car has never worked so I never use it, I think I might disconnect the button so it can't be used! I had heard about it being hard on fuel, now I believe it!
Anyone else noticed this?
