Hi guys
Just hoping y'all might be able to help with my dithering.
I need a plasma cutter and have kinda narrowed it down to this Lincoln with an onboard compressor:
http://rapidwelding.com/dynamic/DisplayItem.aspx?c=K12038-1&zl=2
Or this (I'm assuming) reworked Chinese jobby of ebay:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CUT-50-Pl...?pt=UK_Sound_Vision_Other&hash=item4170960dd6
I do have a small, crappy air compressor so I could use that for the Cut 50.
I like the all-in-one-ness of the Lincoln and, of course, the reputation behind the brand. The question is, is it worth £500-ish for the brand and the compressor, especially when I see no mention of an HF start on this model?
The ebay cutter sounds alright, seems to come with a decent warranty and can reportedly cut thicker metal and has an air start. Save £500 and just use my compressor doesn't sound like too bad of an option.
I can't really see the need for me to be cutting thicker than 10mm, but I don't like spending a grand on a tool and still be potentially limited. I want to run on 230 and have 13/16 amp sockets in the shop.
Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated. What have I missed or not considered? What other machines would suit?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers

edit - just seen in a thread down the page that the Lincoln does apparently have a pilot arc...
