Fixing up yet another neglected Clarke 90 tonight, I'm now rather perplexed.
In my limited experience, if the measured open circuit voltage over the power range is spot on (as in this case: 19 vdc to 28 vdc over the 4 settings ) and the wire feed works (which means a good PCB), then that is usually an indicator of full functionality.
This machine, fulfilling the above criteria, will NOT arc.
Even with contact tip /diffuser directly applied to the earth clamp, as per the OCV measurements, zilch!
Is this some deeper transformer issue, or have I not spotted something stupid ??
