Has anyone had any experience using it to protect bare mild steel? I'm making some lamps for a restaraunt and the customer wants a bare metal finish to give a warts and all apearance to what is a fairly sleek design
Hi Sam
Just Brought 5 litres online from Morris Lubricants.
Was £47.29 inc del + vat
I'll get the vat back so quite chuffed
I've tried to add a link but never have too much success with links
I just use the cheapest candles I can find. I heat the steel I want to treat in the oven when our lass is cooking tea then just melt the candle on, once the steels cool buff them up gives a good finish thats surprisingly weather resistant
Couldn't justify the 50 quid price tag so instead I just got a big candle and a little one (for the gaps) and rubbed it all over the stands before rubbing it in with my bare hand, it appears to have worked an absolute treat on my test piece (waxed a bar then dipped in water and left in workshop for a week) so there shouldn't be any issues with indoor lamp.
