Hi.
I am a relative newcomer to MIG/MAG welding. In the past, I have had a brief go at gas welding and arc welding during a 6 week workshop introduction course during my pre-university gap year (I worked for an engineering firm rather than travel! ).
About a month ago, I decided to dive in and have a bask at welding my Singer Chamois (Hillman Imp) to install a new, stronger front radiator assembly. I practised on some scrap steel sheet and, pretty soon, was able to lay down a straight, consistent weld with good penetration! So I leapt in and began work on the car. It has been... erm... interesting! But I have learned lots and, above all, enjoyed the process!
I shall post some pictures later on.
Anyway, I intend to learn to weld stainless steel as well as mild. I want to make an exhaust system for the Chamois. Later on, I also want to try aluminium...
I look forward to learning lots from browsing this site and this forum!
