got an idea floating around my head about a portable table.
The idea is a work mate frame with the wooden tops removed, a hinge on the back set with a thick bit of ply screwed on leaving the front just resting on the front arms. Then a piece of Ali plate screwed onto the wood as a conductive top. The idea being you can flip the top right over and the. Fold the work mate legs as normal.
The reason for Ali is because this table is going to have to live outside during this winter at least and I don't want it rusting.
Does this sound feasible? Also how thick is the Ali going to have to be? I was thinking 3mm should do given how well it draws heat away I dont want it too thick Incase it takes too much of the welding heat away etc. Will 3mm be thick enough to stop it melting when welding directly on the table?
