Thankyou for the detailed reply,I try to promote paton in the UK via my Instagram, I have imported two machines from the polish seller on eBay (allweld supplies) and have paid full retail... I have the vdi-250p machine which will do lift Tig, mma and mig/mag.
They are fully manual machines, no synergic lines at all and you need to setup the pulse width, pulse frequency and pulse percentage manually. The vdi-250 differs from the psi-250 in that it does not have a built in 24v power supply to drive an external feeder. The 4 pole connector on the back just does mig torch triggering, the other two poles are not used.
I'm impressed with the build quality, but note they do not have power factor correction. They will run at full power off a 9kva generator, my friend @davidjohnperry runs his from his Lincoln ranger 9 when required.
The duty cycle is rated on a 5 minute cycle apparently, not the usual 10 minute cycle, just to make you aware.
Anything else you need to know?
Could you give me some assistance with the reccomended settings for aluminium welding from say 3 to 6mm in Mig Pulse Mode as that is what i will be using it for mostly. and what does it mean when you say they dont have power factor correction? do they run at full power from when you switch them on? i'll only be using it through a 32A socket so no reason to run it off a geni that i know of at the moment. if i was doing any geni welding i would be using my little parweld MMA welder for that operation.
Thanks
