Okay so as im into old fords, you can imagine the amount of rust i come across! i have a nice big pile of scrap steel from a chopped up shell (that was excessively rusty) and need to buy a welder, it needs to be able to plug into a normal household plug socket and not be too powerful for a first time welder! Also, i have a feeling allot of you will gasp at this expectation, but really i need to be set up and running for £300-£350 all in, as you can imagine, im expecting to get a second hand welder!
The car im hoping to learn on is my 1983 fiesta 1300S heres a list of what it needs welding:
Sill needs a patch
drivers rear arch needs replacing
drivers rear inner arch needs a patch
boot floor needs several patches
boot lid needs the wiper hole blanking
front panel needs two holes blanking
Both wings need removing and repairing
drivers footwell needs some patching, the inner sill is intact
rear footwells need some patching
no doubt i will come across some more before this project is completed!
So does anybody have any recommendations based on that?
i have been looking at lightly used (still brand new looking) Clarke mig welders, the red ones with wheels and was watching a near brand new 155te that was sub £300 but the person selling it ended the auction early
at the moment im looking at the 135te's, but read a few bad reviews
im located near liverpool and a distance of say 50miles to collect it is possible
