I've just had a Windows 7 update and it's telling me I have a non-genuine copy of Win 7, it opens a box with a link to purchase a legit product key, but this link just takes me to a Win 10 upgrade FAQ page, no mention of purchasing a Win 7 licence.
Has anyone actually succeeded in legitimising a copy of Win 7?
I've uninstalled the relevant upgrade, but it deletes my wallpaper every hour and I have a message on the bottom right of the screen saying "This copy of Windows is not genuine".
I recently installed an SSD so I still have the original HDD, so I could re-clone the SSD and turn automatic updates off, but I'd rather not.
