Oh OK then, I didn't realise you still won't catch me under anything held up by hydraulics on their own.
But you trust the brakes on your car to stop you? Just making a point

Nowt like a bit of banter. But I have to agree ZZR. With working on MEWPs and other similar hydraulic systems you understand and trust the technology behind them. All safety is approached with the greatest respect an I would never put myself in danger for any customer

I started as a Hgv tec then a class1 driver then had my own paint shop and now import Japanese vehicles and property management.and I guess you are a cage fighter or lion tamer lol
My mum used to do that to me and my brother, a right stingy one accross the thigh, ouch it was sore.If you two start arguing I'll come over and slap yer legs and send yer to bed wi no supper

That's why we now have duel circuit brakes, a mechanical backup brake, a steering system to avoid the hazard and a seat belt and airbag for when all that fails.
Just answering a point ( in good humor)
Arr,,, but we now train unit fitters because the computer says its the "So and So" that's fubarred, I haven't seen a proper total engine strip/rebuild (including a rebore/regrind) in a vehicle workshop for years, its now just a case of pull it out and unpack a new one.
We now train "Unit Fitters not Mechanics" if the computer can't fix it, a lot of "Modern Day Mechanics" are totally lost, give them a car from the 1950's/60's/70's and ask them to cure an engine problem they're lost, or ask them to rebuild an engine...

A friend of mine has worked for Mercedes since leaving school, must be 53/54 now and originally trained as a gearbox tech,
I'm guessing that's on the Bridgewater Canal not far from Man United's ground. Not too far for you to travel eh?
I'm working on the design of upgraded highway approaches to the canal towpath to be ready for when the towpath upgrade is complete.
