How are you going to put a 40mm OD bearing onto a tube that size? (I think you may just have meant ID...)
I might have a piece of solid bar that size. Can you drill and bore it all the way though?
To make up for it I'll have a look tomorrow and see if I have anything suitable - if I do you can have it for postage
At that you are around the size of scaffold tube are you not ?
Thanks, very kind offer, but it's size critical as its a specific bearing that goes inside. I need to end up at 40mm internal size.yer they normally 50mm diameter with a 5mm wall.
i got lots of it laying about..
if a bit is any good, give me a shout.
I've got some 42.4 x 2.77 wall galvanised handrail tube here if you want to pick it up, I don't really have time to pack and post it though
That is so weird------- I read ------- onto too------- well not onto too, onto-- ALSO, actually.I read ONto, not INto....... Carry on, nothing to see here

Thanks Paul, how smooth is the gal on it? Its got to have a drive belt running over it.
Stainless of course would be the perfect option as I can polish it smooth and it addresses the corrosion issue which set me on this path in the first place!
I've found a piece of 42.4 x 2mm wall stainless grade unknown but it is a 3 series probably 316 if that's any good.
No problem, I'll pm you my contact details150mm would be plenty if you don't mind?
