I'm aware that a few of the lads here have 3D printers so, given that I know almost nothing about the process, like materials/output product strength/costs/time etc, I'm hoping for a bit of help.
I have a petrol strimmer [originally bought from Northern Tools who I believe are no more] and it's been a great machine although quite inexpensive when new. The problem now is with the recoil cord which jams in the 'out' position when I try to start it. You may have seen in another thread that I've got a replacement, but it galls me to scrap a decent machine for failure of a plastic moulding, which is where I've tracked the problem to.
The problem lies with this bit where the spigot on the top of the spring fits through a hole. With time & use this has worn so that, under pressure, the spring pulls out and jams the whole mechanism.
I've tried searching the web for a replacement but can't find one the same - I know they're not all identical and vary from brand to brand so wonder if someone who knows about such things can say if it'd be sensible to print one [for beer tokens?] or should I just bite the bullet and either scrap it [engine is excellent still] or advertise it as 'spares or repair'?
