Can I add a 16a socket to an existing ring main?
Basically, I want to add a 240v outside commando socket to plug in a caravan.
It only needs to be 13a really, but i would like to use the opportunity to run my Oxford oil cooled off it, so would prefer a 16a supply - 32a, if I could get away with it.
The ring main has a 32a RCD (?) on it, and two lightly used double sockets - phone charger, TV, kettle, vac are the only things used.
Is it possible to spur off the ring - I have a couple of foot of 6mm t+e that I can use.
I'm thinking a fused switch inside, used as a terminal, cable through wall, then an ip67 rated socket outside.
Doable? Or *MUST* I run it from consumer unit?
