100e gas valve

Hi,

I've done a search but can't find the answer so hoping someone could quickly answer this for me....

How do I open up the brass gas valve on a Clarke. It's not leaky but the spindle's stiff and sticky. I can only think I have to use a hammer on the spindle to pop the back out?

Can anyone advise me what's the best way to get access inside?

I stopped mine sticking by squirting WD40 round the plunger.

yeah I've similar valve on my clarke welder and I've used wd40 to free mine too

I can't remember if I gave it a squirt or not. Will give it some and see. It looks like someone has butchered it with a screwdriver trying to get the back out. There's bits of o-ring visible, but I have checked it with soapy water and it's not leaking so maybe best not to fiddle necessarily.
