Its mainly for thin bodywork, min of 1.0mm, which would be the best buy and why? there's about £30 in it price wise...
I'm after a MIG incase I can't tig some car panels.
Its only for thin metal, whats a good cheap welder to go for(used).
I was looking at this...
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cebora-Pocket-Turbo-Mig-welder-/271061795230?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3f1c8ac19e
any good? Or does anyone...
Howdy all.
I've a R-tech 161 i've been trying to teach tig weld with. I've made some brackets and my car(240Z) is now on a spit upside down.
I've got a few repairs to make to the floor(cars from arizona so never welded yet). I can have the car upside down so I can lean on it in a nice...
Ok so under the car+engine bay, bare metal then epoxy primer.
Can I use cellulose high build primer on top of that? Whats a good epoxy to go for? What surface prep before? You can see i'm new to this but willing to learn!!! :)
Howdy all.
I've got myself a nice 1970 240z project, its a left hooker from Arizona so its all original still:o
I might have made a mistake though on stripping it down....
I've been stripping the engine bay, there's loads of brackets so I'm having real trouble getting it back to clean...
I'm removing the engine bay and interior paint on a 240z project. Whats the best paint stripper for getting back to bare metal, i'm using some starchem stuff which works OK but just wondering what better stuff there is?
Backing out of warranty claims, poor quality control. Have a look on the american forums. The R-tech might look like some of the Chinese machines but its been altered and tweaked before coming out of themselves.
I nearly went for an eastwood TIG however some digging around shows its not all roses. The warranty is long but not always easy to claim on it seems, also quite basic all round.
I ended up with an R-tech TIG for not much more with the great backup/support.
I've just got an R-tech 161 ac/dc unit, where should I start!??
I've collected a 5ft bottle of pure argon so that should last a while:laughing:
However regarding all the control knobs on the front, what are good settings as I try to learn how to use it?
I'm looking forward to see what makes a unit shop soiled for the saving :)
its the support that makes it a 'goer' for me. I also had a look at migtigarc and they had a mig set that looked like the portamig one but about £100 cheaper, am I right in thinking that they're all made in the same...
