See attached. Essentially this, with the wood underneath the frame. But I don't want the fixings to be seen from the top - so no bolt straight through.

That sort of thing? I'd be looking at 10mm ones...
Rivnuts do look perfect, and even if they don't sit flush it doesn't matter - I can open out the top of the hole in the wood so it sits over the head of the rivnut. My only concern is their strength - I'm assuming they're basically just bashed in with a hammer? If someone was to stand on the...
Hiya all,
I'm making a table out of wide/flat stainless box section. Not sure of the exact size yet, but i think it's somewhere in the region of 100mm x 15mm, probably with a 2mm wall.
I'll make two mitred square frames out of this stuff which will then support the wooden top. Thing is, I want...
Hiya all,
I'm making a welding table and it needs to be on threaded casters as my floor isn't perfectly level so I'll need to be able to adjust them a bit.

Yeah, you're probably right. it's not very heavy and the rest of the cast parts are not that good quality, so it's probably pressed mild. Could i strip it with a wire brush grinder attachment and have it powdercoated?
Cheers,
Jim
P.S. If someone can tell me how to post pictures I can...
Hi all,
The drummer in my band has recently acquired an old Premier snare drum from the Seventies. The shell and rim are chromed stainless steel. However, it is a fairly poor state with the chrome flaking and peeling.
Whats the best way to strip the chrome off and prepare for re-chroming...
