i keep telling myself im going to buy another stick welder as i loved my parweld xti160, but i keep wondering to myself whether i need to spend £200 on a 160 amp set when i only ever really burn 2.5mm rods, and occasionally 3.2mm rods...and not for any huge length of time either...
just been browsing the r-tech site and saw the r-tech pro arc 135 for 150 inc vat and wonder if that would be all i need as i only ever weld up gas bottles and the odd bit of 10mm with a 3.2 rod (after it was shown to me by a member on here that the welds will take 22 ton)
i just want something to bodge around with, make a few things to make a bit of money (yes i have liability insurance...) and just generally lark about with, and as i have little to no choice but to weld outside, mig and tig arent really going to be any good for the time being (atleast until june next year)
anyone used the r-tech 135 and have an opinion on it? i am not looking for second hand at all purely because i like inverters and with all those electronics in there i want a warranty and r-tech offer 2 years
