After the disaster with my new R-Tech 140 MMA the replacement arrived today as promised, making me realise as I opened the box my plug was on its way back with the returned machine.
After a bit of electirickery connection to a new plug some tests welds were performed as detailed in the picture.
Top 70amps
Middle 85 amps
Bottom 100amps
Using a mid range 2.5 rod, been lying in the workshop all winter and showing areas of rust
So...the review continued:
As previously mentioned a nice sized machine, very light with a carrying strap on the top.
The fan can be heard but is not intrusive in a working environment.
Easy to strike up, crackled away smoothly and very nice to use.
Only very slight negative is the position of the on/off switch, it's on the back, which considering the small size and lack of front space is perhaps understandable.
So..all in all, I am delighted with it, confidence dented a bit with the initial machine going wrong but as long as I don't get a repeat that will sort itself over time.
Appears to be a very nice machine considering the price.
