You need a Howard! My Yeoman weighs 250kg with a 420cc engine - one day I'll find out how good it is when it's put back together!
We do have a small gearbox driven (forward/reverse) rotovator here that's redundant, not sure of the make but it's old. It does have an engine on it but I've never seen it run, I will take a picture in the morning if your interested.Has anyone here made a rotovator.
Ive got an idea going round my head which involved an electric motor from an old cement mixer mounted up on a frame with some wheels. Chain drive from motor to an axle type arrangement mounted onto a couple of pillow block bearings. Its on this shaft the rotovator blades will be fitted.
Is this a realistic idea or just pie in the sky
Thoughts please

The gearbox has an issue - feels like the clutch shaft had snapped and the mag is dead, I plan to run it off a battery in the short term but there are a lot of other jobs that jump the queue.yours is pretty good when its working its when its not and the repairs come into it that causes the trouble and getting parts
im lucky with merry tiller its basic built so can make the parts up for it or make its tools to go with it though i dont fancy putting all 8 tines onto it and tilling with it as its hard enough to hold the thing now
Hi Parm
I forgot to take a picture this morning while it was light but I've done some research and it's a Howard Demon.
I'm not sure if the Suffolk on it is the original engine, it has compression but I haven't tried starting it.
The gearbox works OK if you turn the drive pulley by hand and the rotors engage correctly.
It was one of my wife's grandfather's (deceased ) collection of garden machinery so I don't know any other history about it.

or there is also a Merry Tiller which my FIL used to use where he couldn't get the bigger Howard Gem but the engine lost compression about 5 years ago so it was replaced with a new one, it's sat in the lean-to ever since.

If you are interested I will find out from my FIL what he wants for them, I don't imagine it will be too much as my MIL has been nagging him to get rid of them.
@Parm
I found one.
Said I would look.

Might need to extend the chassis, bed, fix wheels, change the engine, fit a bigger fuel tank.
