pritty gutted tbh, but if this is the case with mine i suppose this just adds to the case against for a refund.@poxxxy
Bought a machine from that exact seller discribed in the same manner.
His was missing a pcb.
This wouldn't give me any confidence in him or his items.
He's selling a lot of "untested" thermal arcs cheap.
Why wouldn't he put a plug on them and test them to sell the working ones for better brass????
Answer............... because he knows all too well its f####d . .
dont know whether to be happy or not, just plugged it in and seems to go through all the setting and such ok. so hoping it will be ok when i get it hooked up. what issues did you have with reliability? They made the same machine for Migatronic as well as Thermal Arc. At that time, we also took the inverter and housing to use with our front panel as a stop gap whilst the HandyTig and T series were being developed.
To be honest it wasn't great and the reliability was pretty shocking so we stopped it almost as soon as we started
Don't be put off that easily. When Matt says it's not reliable I guess what he means is not reliable enough to carry a lorch badge. Remember these lorch units are 3k and up and go through some gruelling tests to warrant that price tag. If that's a working unit you have done well.
