Also a friend of mine has a Clark 100en Turbo that he says he may let me have for £50
Will it have enough power for what you want. It's a big difference between 100 and 160 amps. You'll be limited to 2.5-3mm absolute max. Also a friend of mine has a Clark 100en Turbo that he says he may let me have for £50

If i had a use for it and a very understanding wife id be watching that too!Yep they were good suggestions. Out of those two I'd go with the RTech.
Keep your eyes off that EWM on eBay. I'm tempted by my own suggestions now.
Sticks are a brilliant way to weld that thicker section steel when a compact mig simply does not have the guts.
120amps through a 3.2 rod is gonna weld and penetrate steel far thicker than 120 amps on a mig would. Personally I would not dismiss them from your kit . They fill a big gap in my metal working.
Dixons Gas, Westerhope, offer a bottle for £60 one off charge and then the cost of the gas which I think seems ok?The bigger as bottles are well worth the extra outlay, they will work out much cheaper in the long run. Those small bottles will give you weld time in the order of minutes and you'll end end up spending a fortune.
The boc volkszone offer on here seems to be the best of the rental deals if you are going to be welding a lot or you can go down the rent free option which can be a bit more expensive but still way cheaper than the small bottles.
