Hi
Just thought i would introduce myself. I've been reading the forum for years but only registered recently.
I've been trying to master welding of all sorts but mostly tig.
Recently started a practical project as a trial solution for something. as I've got further into it I've been running into many problems, a quick check on here shows there is a tool to solve everyone (ring roller, slip rollers hossfeld type bender). But Christ they're expensive, so to the home made tools section i go.
So now I'm looking at making tools but the one thing that you seem to need to make most of these tools (for the dies etc) is a lathe. So i think i'll bite the bullet and buy one, which over the long run should save me money.
I'm going for the clarke CL500M and thinking if i buy a lot of the accessories now I'll'll get the trauma over in one hit. now the cost with the accessories is horrendous, and i used this months VAT free code a couple of weeks buying something for £60 so i am also here on the scrounge for one
I'll freely accept its as cheeky as you like, but the money involved means I'm engaging my brass neck. In the hope of mitigating the cheek, i am happy to make a £20-30 donation to the forum. I'm also happy to give a mod the required details to verify this after and publish the result.
If i don't make the donation i would be happy to be banned.
