Been looking at a few ideas for portable tool boxes...
What are you using?
Im only site based generally around 25% of my time. Servicing/installing.
For basic mechanical tools, I usually use a 50+ year old cantilever box. But space is a bit limited and it gets pretty heavy fast.
Think spanners, pipe wrench, c spanners, mallet, chisels/punches..
Downside to this, is i'll often be in wet environments, breaking pipework etc., so tools get damp, box sat in water.
Then bigger things like pry bars, things in cases etc end if in a fruit and veg tray, not ideal.
Sometimes it'll be a bit of trek half way round a factory with it too.
Not carrying powertools in it.
Im dubious on plastic stuff, never had much luck with plastic tool boxes really, but the newer stuff does seem pretty decent.
I see a lot of people using the Milwaukee Packout, seems decent, big range, biggish price tag...drawers, but takes up a lot of space, more than i'd prefer to spend.
Erbauer version, seems solid, know a few that use that, downside is you have to lift boxes off to get the lower ones.
Tstack, not overly impressed, not much space in drawers, clips break.
Things like the £50 stanley boxes on wheels just wont cut it.
