Angle grinder Guards

Dad sat in there with metal in his eye for 5 hours before they dug it out, he said it wasnt pleasant.

It's definitely not fun, metal in the eyeball. I had some filings in one of mine donkeys ago. Wind blown, as I was cutting through a bolt on a bracket. Painful, to say the least.

Not fun when they put that stuff in your eye either, to stop you moving the eyeball, & you're watching them poke it all out.

Sometimes you have to remove the protection from the angle grinder for cutting in difficult places. Discs 125 and smaller do not fall into pieces, at least in my experience, this has not happened. Glasses and so on, of course, are required. Everyone decides for themselves the extent of their risk. That said, does not apply to 9 inches, I avoid those hellish tools.

rubbish ,,, if you have to take the guard off your using the wrong tool.
Ive 32 grinders at the last count , and every single one has a guard on it.

We have the stupid over here as well.
When Gigaclear put in fibre in our road wifey went out and took a young lad to task. He was using a stihl saw on the path and wreathed in dust. No dust mask, no ear protection and no eye protection. After a mild tongue lashing for stupidity he did admit he knew better. The older workers had let him get on with it
