I know this is more "me" than the welder but here goes.
- Clarke 130TE MIG welder
- Hobbygas 5, big bottle
- 0.8mm ms wire
- New liner, shroud, swan neck and tip
- Gas set at the torch at 5lpm with a - peashooter.
- Earth good and clean.
Welding straight down and I've a gut feel the welds are maybe a bit flat / low.
Trying to weld into the corner here is just a no go, the arc is feeble and the wire just won't deposit.
Again gut feel but I'm thinking the wire speed is too slow? I've it set at A(X) / 3(Y) / Max(Z) / Med(N) for the 0.8mm wire from this table in the manual.
Appreciate this welder is a real old 'un and whoever had one has likely moved on to better things. I bought it new in 1987 having grand (Ford Capri related) plans that never happened!
Could do with some tips from someone who has had one and managed decent results. There was somebody here years ago offered me to I think pop round to them with the kit but I can't remember who!
