I need to do some work on the front axle of my JCB 3CX (total weight 7600 kG) - this particular job only needs one wheel off the ground at once (Hub bearings & oil seals) but I'd like to equip myself for things in the future. Rather than cobble together timber cribbing on a piecemeal basis on an as and when basis I'd like to have some proper strong axle stands to grab when needed. In this instance they need a height of about 18".
Lots advertised, and they all seem to quote the capacity of a pair. SGS off a 6 ton set but again that's only 3 ton per stand. Now I can fabricate some if I have to but really it wasn't in the plan.
So what do you recommend.
