Hi All,
I'm hoping to build a garden shed approximately 3 x 4m (10 x 13ft). Timber frame would be the easier option however I want something that is maintenance free(ish) and longer lasting. I looked at a few cheaper 'off the shelf' metal sheds and was surprised how flimsy they are. You could easily put your boot through them so looking for something a bit more robust while staying within budget.
My initial idea was to put together a basic frame using box section and clad using second hand insulated metal panels but then I came across galvanised metal frame sheds which look like a better option. They tend to be bolted together more so than welded as shown in Picture 1 below. It looks like they would be easier to fix panels too also and could be taken apart and moved a lot easier. Picture's 2 & 3 seem to be standard steel box section frames which look good also when pained up but drilling on the panels would be a nightmare?
Anybody know where I can buy parts to make up a galvanised frame as shown in picture 1 or have any thoughts on best way to go while keeping an eye on costs.
The shed will be sitting on patio slabs as base.
