The Elliot takes up loads of space
I've seen folk put them in a corner, seems to occupy less floor space then?

I did think of that but there may be times when I might need to mill a slot or something in a very long bar?
The question mark is because would I really need to do that?
Perhaps some milling machine owners could advise.

You building the trailer yourself? Something I'd like to learn how to do, is there any laws governing the design of trailers in the UK?

I do things like that for example I machine keyways in boats prop shafts, I even had to cut a hole in the metal work on my Chiron so I could do it
You may have said that in jest but I have done exactly that behind my CNC lathes headstock. Bored a hole through the wall and put a nylon bush in it. I can then pass long shafts through the wall and my Beaver NC5 mill resides through the wall so I can set up a lathe steady on the table and manoeuvre the table and support the end of the shaft whilst the lathe does its thingIf the occasion arises, knock a hole in the wall.
