Hi all. Nice friendly forum here. I'm a novice when it comes to MIG welding, and I'm already looking to move away from 'disposable' cylinders. I have read much concerning rental charges, refil charges, regulators, fire extinguishers, fill weights (if co2) and pub style co2 cylinders. This is usually written by, and commented on by experienced welders, so there are more questions than answers for a novice like me.
I'd like to know...
Where to economically buy a co2 cylinder (preferably in Stoke or Stafford), what 'size' do I need to look for (I'm not sure of the available sizes, and how much welding you get out of em, and portability is important as I have limited space, and I won't be welding a lot anyway)
Could renting a cylinder be cheaper than buying?
What regulator should I be looking for?
How do I connect that regulator to the vinyl gas feed on my Clarke 151EN
Where to refil such a cylinder, and how much should I expect to pay for that refil?
Can a Co2 cylinder be filled with a co2/argon mix? I read a different regulator is needed? As the mix is sold by pressure, is it true you get a lot less welding time from a bottle of mix?
I think I have all the questions there for now, at least... thanks in advance :-)
