It's a Zeiss op-mi6 surgical binocular microscope, the bit in the vice is actually upside down, it should have another joint and connect to a floor standing column which I haven't got (Yet, fingers crossed). There is a 12 volt motor and a load of worm gears to move the end up and down, as well as a 6 volt light (I'm yet to test these).
They're clearing out all the little used equipment from a load of the wards where dad works and this was thrown out it so he rescued it from the skip.
It has X10 lenses in but I think these can be swapped out. x10 is plenty to see the hairs on a dead fly's **** BTW.
I'll get some better pictures tomorrow as I've got some questions about it.
First question is, why do I need a microscope?
