Last winter I decided I needed a new bale trailer for hay,not wanting to cough up£4500 for a new one.I hatched a cunning plan:
I found a rotten salop 8 tonne tipper and bought it for £200 took off the body and sold for scrap got £100 back
Then cut the chassis off at the axle frame made up a simple new chassis from 6x3 u section and welded the whole lot back together.
Used 2x2 box for floor members, angle for the sides front and back cross members were from the old trailer.cost so far £800 but it needs some new tyres and the new brakes maybe another £400.
Also took about 20 hours work. I know its not that special but its been realy useful already.Maybe it will inspire others....
