Hi,
I am a 52yr old, who started working as a marine engineer for Shell Tankers in 1972. I learned arc welding and later Oxy acetylene and managed to complete the courses to City & Guilds qualifications.
That was a long time ago and I havn't been in any type of engineering environment for at least 25 years, just messing about with cars and more recently my Yamaha Vmax which I have had for 6 years.
I am very interested in TIG welding aluminium to make small parts for my bike/car etc, ultimately building my own hot rod chassis and bike frame.
For now I'm looking for advice and help and will be starting off practicing with scraps etc.
I found this forum and felt that the tutorials, replies etc were very helpful and hope to be able to contribute in time.
Kind regards
Bill
