Hi chaps,
I've been reading the forum for a couple of weeks now, and decided it was about time I registered. I recently picked up a well-used Clarke machine for not much cash. There are a couple of pics below. I did an evening course about a year ago, although I ended up doing mostly gas and a little stick. As far as MIG goes, I'm pretty much a complete novice.
As you can see in the one picture, the torch is pretty rough! There are a few things I want to sort out with the machine before anything else, then the plan is to buy some 1/16" mild sheet and get practising. Later in the year, I'll probably be trying a project with some stainless tube.
My Clarke comes set up for the full size gas bottles. I was going to get a regulator for the disposables, but now that I've read about how long they last, it sounds like it's going to be expensive either way
Anyway, I look forward to learning from all the great info on this site!
Cheers,
Matt
