Hi All it's been many mths since my last post, i am still a complete novice to mig welding, as i'm awaiting to start a mig weld coarse at my local collage in Sept of this yr, However i was given good sound advice on purchasing as a good sound mig from this forum, it was the Portamig 235amp package,
My Question is..Would i ultimately need a generator to use this type of machine to its full potential ? as i'm thinking of getting extra practice from home while on the coarse,
Also the Portamig is giving reference to mild steel, im looking to at some point further down the road at making my own gym equipent using steel at around 5mm thick, could this be done using the Portamig 235 from a standard household elec'y supply or as mentiond above need a generator, If so then i would obviously need a quite one,. Please Your advice would be most helpfull
