One tool I use a lot are my 115mm grinders. I have a couple of the corded Makita ones and I really like them as they are lovely and compact and great for getting into areas for cutting out rust on cars. I fancied a cordless grinder but never bought one previously because they are longer and bulkier than the corded one, cost considerably more for a tool that won't perform as well but being cordless it would be handy for the odd job away from the workshop or for the odd wee job I thought.
Now before this descends along the same line of my cordless drill review, if you don't have one of these grinders or have not used one yourself then no negative comments allowed. If you do have negative comments post a photo as proof otherwise I will ask mods to remove any of this type of comment. This is a cheap cordless grinder, yes we all know that and I for one do not expect the world from this grinder! But it comes with a 3 year warranty which is decent.
A quick measurement of the grinder and it comes in at 360mm. The makita corded is stated as 266mm and a Makita cordless one is stated as 462mm (seems wrong) on the Screwfix website for reference. The workzone has a no load rpm of 10000, makita corded 11000 and makita cordless 8500.
I bought this grinder thinking it will take my Erbauer batteries as my workzone nailgun does but it looks different so I don't think it will so that is a big negative as I have a good collection of Erbauer batteries already and the 1.5mAh I don't think will last long. I'll see if I can source other batteries.
The cost with one battery and charger is £50. Looks well put together for that price but I'll give it a good test. I'm not kind to my grinders so we'll see if it is up to the job pretty quickly. I'll get some pics to compare to my corded Makitas for reference later.
