hello all.
Not been on for a while, sure they used to be a workshop builds section but can’t find it now, so I’ll ask here.
I have rented a workshop for years, just for projects and when I was racing bangers, but I’ve downgraded to small yard now with the intention of sorting my garage out properly. It’s only a prefab panel job but I’ve put a timber frame inside with plastic between and insulation between the frame. I’ve lined the inside out with a load of reclaimed plastic coated steel sheets I got off a site I worked on, so hopefully it should be a bit more secure and keep the temperatire and noise under control a bit better.
I need to get a decent power supply to garage. It is a terraced house and the garage is at the bottom of the garden, about 10m from the house. Can I throw an armoured cable over the roof, and is there a way of fixing it down to the tiles? I’d rather avoid going through the attic as it’s a nightmare to get in there. Also what size cable would you recommend? I have quite a big compressor that blows a 13a fuse so had its own feed in the workshop. The supply will obviously need to be enough for tools, lights welder etc too so I’m thinking 10mm would be enough?
Any advice greatly appreciated, I’ll get someone in to connect and sign it off but would like to get the cable in ready.
Cheers.
