Not the normal one asking for recommendations but making some for some people. I've just finished wiring in a couple of floodlights in my temporary workshop and took a couple of pictures for @8ob because I know he's after some not useless ones for his man-cave extension.
So to put a bit of context around this here is the temporary workshop from the outside - the building to the left of the digger. It's a two storey building but no floor in it at the moment.
The original lighting setup was a pair of fluorescent lights suspending from the rafters and are just a bit higher than where the first floor would be, which gave this lighting setup:
I've now installed a pair of these floodlights up on the bottom of the roof A frames so they're a little higher up as well. One at either end angling slightly towards the centre of the room.
And the result is:
They're currently £22.50 + VAT from CPC but there are lower power versions available and different colour temperatures. The important thing is that they have Samsung LEDs in them which are very good quality.
I've had a couple of the PIR versions (lower power, 50W I think) outside the house for about 8 months and despite the weather we've had this winter they've been absolutely fine. My father has had one of the 100W ones on the outside of a tall barn on their farm facing the worst of the weather for a couple of years and it's been absolutely fine.
In fact you can just about see one of the PIR ones if you look carefully on the outside of the house just to the right of the downspout on the outside bog, below the bay closest bay window to the digger.
Hope this helps some people.
