im renovating a smallish shed here with the plan to eventually turn into a form of a tool room where i can keep my mill and lathe along with other associated items.
im a fair bit off painting my floor yet but its one of the things on my "need to get" list all the same.
from some reading its a bit of a mine field but it seems that the water based epoxy resin floor paint is about as good as it gets or so it would read anyways.
this is what i picked out on one web site, the Remmers brand of paint, never heard of them tbh.
https://buyfloorpaint.co.uk/Shop/Category.mvc/Detail/3
the floor area is 30 mtrs square.
i was going to go for the likes of the bs2000 for the primer and the bs3000 for the paint.
keeping the cost to somewhat sensible i was thinking that the primer 5kg tin size id get one full coat on the floor and another one thinned down a bit to make it cover the area again.
then id have enough paint in one tin to give it about 2 good coats of color.
they say 2-3 coats but even 2 coats can be textured.
its going to cost enough money at roughly 400 odd for the paint but whatever paint i put down i want it to stay like that, i dont ever want to see it lifting or flaking for it would only annoy me.
soo, my questions would be,
is the epoxy paint the right choice?
is there a cheaper supplier that anyone would know of where a good quality product can be got from?
and im slightly concerned that the painted floor could be like a bottle if it had coolant or oil spilled on it and in general use could it be a bit too smooth?
i see either sand or polymer plastic can be added to it to still leave it a sealed surface but with somewhat of a grip, am i right in being concerned or am i just being daft?
