hi all , just wanted to make a quick post for anyone wanting to buy a cheap hobby type welder to start learning with or for occasional diy work. it has been a while since I posted anything , at the time I sold my large migatronic 180 to buy something smaller and had my eye on a couple of machines. my dog fell bad and needed an operation and so my money I had set aside went on bills , now I had no welder at all , then I saw a add for a new wolf 140 mig welder in the box near me for 100 pound off an old guy who never even put a plug on it. needed to do a few little jobs and thought it will do until I saved up again and then just move it on for a little loss , well I have had it for over a year now and well can't fault it and it has been a cracking little machine on both thin and thicker metals , I then ran out of gas one weekend so reversed the polarity and used the little reel of flux core that came with it and well worked great (for gasless) ,my wife surprised me today with a retch mig 180 (she knows the way to a mans heart ..lol), she said you can sell your other one now , well actually no way , I will use that for gasless and put in the van . my point to this post is if your just starting or want to buy something inexpensive to mess around with this is my experience with a 180 pound new welder , hope this helps someone ..thanks ian
